I was honored when Nicole, a talented fellow photographer I met in a workshop several years ago, asked me to shoot her family this past fall. So one brisk day they drove down from Massachusetts and we met to make some fun photos in beautiful Goddard Park. The girls were such troopers in the wind. We worked quickly and I think we got some great shots! Thanks, Nicole, for trusting me to document your beautiful family! I enjoyed spending time with you all.
In September I met the awesome Carey family for their annual shoot. This time we headed to Barn Island in Connecticut, hiked out a couple of miles and then turned back, making photos along the way. Per usual, they joked, I laughed, and then we headed to CC O’Brien’s for some post-shoot, post-hike dinner. Fun times as always, and already looking forward to what we come up with for 2014!
Still re-living summer with the blog posts… come check out a fun day on the water and romping around the grass. I always love this stylish and creative mama’s ideas each year for adding a little prop action to her family’s shoots. For this one she scored an awesome “Summer Shift” sign courtesy of a local inn and pitched a little teepee in the yard for the kiddos. I especially love the last couple shots, as if T is saying, “Done – see you later!”
Finally posting this fun shoot at the farm one rainy day this past July. Luckily a big tent was set up from a wedding the evening before, so the boys, their mom, grandma and I could wait out the passing showers (and downpours!). But thankfully, we got a few periods of dry sky and could get in some fun shots with these handsome brothers – and some classic John Deere and Radio Flyer props to keep them entertained! The trike was their dad’s from his childhood. And if you’re wondering why their hair looks so darn good, their dad happens to be the best barber in town, Marc of The Gentleman Barber in Hope Valley. Support this great local biz next time you need a trim!
Another fun day at the Simmons family annual shoot this year. This time we took it back to the beach, all hands on deck, complete with a prop boat constructed by my boyfriend, and sail made by my friend Monica. Loved this shoot, love this family.
